Two men died after overdosing on ketamine at a KTV venue in Muse, a China–Myanmar border town in northern Shan State under military regime control, Shwe Phee Myay has learned.
The incident occurred on the morning of 24 July after three men reportedly used drugs throughout the night at a KTV venue in Muse.
“There were three of them in total. One died at the KTV. While the other two were being taken to Lashio, another died on the way. Only one of them survived,” a local woman told Shwe Phee Myay.
The survivor is a 20-year-old resident of Hsenwi Township.
In a similar incident at around 6:00 AM on 25 April, a man in his 30s from Nam Um Village, Muse Township, also died after using ketamine overnight at a KTV venue.
Local residents said the use of drugs such as “Happy Water,” ketamine, WY tablets, and “Gold,” a synthetic drug cocktail, is widespread among both men and women in Muse, with fatal overdoses occurring frequently.
