Shwe Phee Myay, Apr 22, Muse

Locals in the junta-controlled border town of Muse told Shwe Phee Myay that the junta military’s helicopters have been making dozens of daily landings and take-offs.

A local resident stated that the Military Council has been conducting these continuous daily flights into Muse since April 18.

“I’m not sure if they are rotating personnel after Thingyan or delivering supplies. Since they only stay for a short time, it’s likely they are dropping off or picking up people. If they were unloading heavy supplies, it would take longer. Now, they stay for about 10 minutes and leave. Four helicopters have passed through today, coming and going. It was the same yesterday and the day before,” he said.

He added that on March 18, the Military Council similarly used helicopters to conduct a troop rotation in Muse.

In addition to the military, various militia groups are also active in Muse, with the majority of these groups focusing primarily on business interests.
