The military regime torched 54 homes in Htaukshapin Village, Pauk Township, Magway Region, according to an official from the Anyar Myay Civil Society Organization (Myaing).

Junta forces raided Htaukshapin Village between July 2 and July 13, setting fire to 54 homes during the operation.

“Junta soldiers burned down 54 houses and a power transformer. The junta column has now left Htaukshapin Village and advanced eastward, entering Kaingtawma Village,” the official told Shwe Phee Myay.

In a similar incident on July 13, junta troops also torched more than 70 homes in Latkhotepin and Kannet villages in Myaing Township.

The military regime’s ongoing military operations in Pauk and Myaing townships have forced residents from 16 villages to flee their homes.

According to the official, six villagers have also been captured and killed by junta forces.
