The junta’s military conducted an airstrike targeting a monastery in Kaw Pawng Village, Kyaukme Township, northern Shan State, killing one monk and injuring seven novice monks, according to the residents.

The attack took place around 4 p.m. on Friday, when a fighter jet dropped a 500-pound bomb on Kaw Pawng Village.

“A monk was killed in the attack,” said a resident.

The junta’s airstrike on Kaw Pawng Village in Kyaukme also injured seven novice monks, including a 4-year-old child and three teenagers.

Over the past three weeks, junta airstrikes targeting TNLA-controlled areas have killed 48 people and injured 61, according to the local sources.
