The Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) has completed repairs on the Hseni bridge, located at the entrance of the MNDAA-controlled Hseni Township on the Lashio-Muse Highway, according to the residents.

The bridge which damaged and partially collapsed in the morning on October 30, 2023, during the first wave of Operation 1027, was completely repaired by Thursday morning. The MNDAA then held an opening ceremony, allowing all vehicles and motorcycles to pass, a resident told Shwe Phee Myay.

“Yes, the Hseni bridge has been fully repaired. Its opening ceremony was held on Thursday, and all vehicles can now cross it,” she said.

Though the MNDAA also completed repairs on the Hseni bridge last year, it was only passable by small and six-wheeled vehicles, excluding cargo and container trucks.

Also in the first week of this month, the MNDAA allowed small vehicles to cross the old Kunlong suspension bridge at the entrance of MNDAA-controlled Kunlong Township. This bridge, also damaged during Operation 1027, reopened after repairs were completed.
