The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) announced that the graduation ceremony for the Basic Teacher Training conducted by the Ta’ang Land Education Council (TLEC) (https://shwepheemyay.org/…/first-batch-of-taang…/) was held on June 29 in Namhsan, a town controlled by the ethnic Ta’ang armed group.
Nearly 200 people attended the ceremony, including Professor Dr. Hwng, Namhsan Township Education Officer U Maung Maung Lay, the TLEC Secretary, Associate Directors, departmental officials, teachers, and trainees.
According to TLEC, the two-month training course was held from April 28 to June 28 and provided trainees with basic teaching skills required for working as teachers.
A total of 149 trainees, including 103 female trainees and 46 male trainees, successfully completed the training.
Twelve core subjects were taught during the training, including Education Theory, Educational Psychology, Myanmar, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Physical Education, Performing Arts (Music), Visual Arts, Local Curriculum (Agriculture, DS, IS), and Practice Teaching (Practicum).
During the training period, awards were presented to instructors and trainees, including outstanding academic awards, best demonstration teaching awards in Myanmar, English, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science, best visual arts awards, best teaching aids creation awards, best badminton sports awards, best Chinlone sports awards, and best class physical demonstration awards.
TLEC stated that the training was organized to help teachers gain essential basic teaching skills, provide learning opportunities for those who have not previously attended teacher training courses, develop qualified teachers, and create opportunities for continuous learning in pedagogy.
