Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS) Chairman General Yawd Serk warned that infighting over territory and self-interest among revolutionary forces only prolongs the revolution.

General Yawd Serk included these remarks in his speech on May 21, marking the 68th Shan State Revolution Day.

He noted that because some revolutionary organizations fight solely out of hatred for the Burmese military and lack long-term strategic goals, they end up surrendering or shifting stances when the enemy plays political games.

Additionally, General Yawd Serk pointed out that certain revolutionary groups are building up wealth and power, growing arrogant, and acting like tyrants in the jungle.

He stated that instead of pointing fingers, revolutionary organizations need to learn from past mistakes and study political and military strategies.

The RCSS is an ethnic armed organization that signed the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA). Following the military coup, the group has frequently reiterated its stance that political issues must be resolved solely through political means.
