The junta launched an airstrike on a futsal court in the eastern of Mogok, a township controlled by the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) in Mandalay Region, killing three and injuring at least four youths who were playing soccer at the time, according to a local source.
According to the a man from Mogok, one of the bombs struck the futsal court near the Shan Buddhist Monastery at approximately 3 p.m. on October 21.
“It’s true that bombs were dropped. Two bombs were dropped. One landed near the Phaya Ngar Su Pagoda. I can’t confirm how many people were hurt there. So far, three people have been confirmed dead. The other bomb was dropped toward the Pein Shwe area,” he said.
Shwe Phee Myay News Agency is still gathering detailed information regarding the airstrike.
On October 20, the junta also carried out an airstrike on Mongngawt town, which is also controlled TNLA, killing two residents and injuring two others.
Since October 1, the junta has conducted continuous airstrikes on areas controlled by the PSLF/TNLA.
According to data compiled by the Shwe Phee Myay News Agency, a total of 47 people — including nine children — have been killed, and at least 46 others — including 10 children — have been injured in the attacks.
