A junta airstrike on an internally displaced person (IDP) camp in western Demoso Township, Karenni State, injured three displaced people, according to sources in the camp.
At around 9 a.m. on Monday, the military junta launched an airstrike on an IDP camp in western Demoso Township, dropping two bombs and injuring three displaced people.
“The junta dropped the bombs from a Y12 into the IDP camp. The aircraft was flying overhead for the whole day,” said a resident.
The people injured by the junta’s airstrike on Monday were two 10-year-old children and a woman in her 50s.
On the same day, the junta also launched another airstrike on an IDP camp in Hpruso Township, Karenni State, injuring three more displaced people.
The junta has carried out a number of recent airstrikes in the region.
At around 6 a.m. on August 20, a strike on Lo Kha Lo village, near Mawchi town in Bawlakhe Township, Karenni State, killed one person and injured five others. Three days earlier, on August 17, a junta airstrike in Mawchi reportedly killed up to 32 civilians.
