The military junta launched an airstrike on Namtu Town’s center area around 7:30 a.m. today, Thadingyut Full Moon Day, damaging several houses, according to the residents.

The junta’s airstrike completely destroyed at least seven houses, with minor damage reported in at least ten others.

Only a few civilians, including an elderly woman, sustained minor injuries—because most residents had either fled the area or were attending rituals at the monastery for the Thadingyut Full Moon Day.

Also at around 7:15 a.m., on October 2, the junta’s military launched an airstrike on a densely populated Ward 8 in Namtu Town with a jet aircraft, resulting in 4 deaths and 6 injuries.

The junta’s military, which is currently intensifying its offensive against Hsipaw Township, has been continuously bombing not only Hsipaw, but also Namsan, Manton Towns in northern Shan State.
