A junta airstrike on Thone Sal Village in Nawnghkio, a Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA)-controlled township in northern Shan State, killed three civilians and injured one, according to the residents.

At around 3 p.m. on July 1, the junta’s military dropped bombs into Thone Sal village and 3 men were killed and another man was injured, said a resident who is familiar with the incidents.

“The aircraft dropped bombs four times, with a total count of 11. Two houses and the monastery were damaged,” he said.

Also, the clashes were intensified between the junta’s military and TNLA in Myat Chin Nu and Clashes also intensified between the junta military and the TNLA in Myat Chin Nu and Nawng Aw villages since June 30.

The junta military has frequently launched airstrikes on Nawnghkio as part of a massive offensive to retake the township from the TNLA. On June 19, the junta also dropped 500-pound bombs and fired howitzer shells into the town, damaging many houses and buildings.
