The junta’s military has completed repairs on the Goke Twin bridge, and clashes with the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) continue to intensify in Nawng Ping and Nawng Pyit Villages in Kyaukme, a township under control of it in northern Shan State, according to the frontline sources.
The junta’s offensive units advancing from Nawnghkio and Gote Twin have targeted Nawng Pyit village, and they have reportedly regained control of most of that area.
According to a frontline source, due to the junta’s offensive in the Nawng Ping area, where clashes have raged for more than three weeks and fighting remains intense, casualties have been reported on both sides.
“Both sides are launching attacks. Fighting remains intense, and casualties are high on both sides,” said the source.
Frontline sources added that during the Nawng Ping offensive, the junta forces carried out attacks using ‘kamikaze’ or ‘suicide’ drones.
The junta’s propaganda Telegram channels claimed that they have recently completed repairs on the Gote Twin bridge, allowing them to easily transport troops and heavy weapons toward Nawng Ping village.
Since August 19, a well-equipped junta unit has advanced from Nawnghkio, crossing Goteik Creek, and launched an offensive from Htantabin Village toward Nawng Ping village, which is under the control of Shan State Progress Party (SSPP).
