Today alone, the junta launched airstrikes on two villages on the Kyaukme–Mogok Road, in an area controlled by the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), according to the residents.
Around 10 a.m. today, the junta launched an airstrike on Pangkun Village. Another strike was launched on Pan Thabyay village on the Kyaukme–Mogok Road around 12 p.m.
The junta launched airstrikes on Pan Thabyay village twice, and one of those strikes injured Yar Mal On, 62, according to a resident who spoke to Shwe Phee Myay.
“First, the aircraft dropped a bomb, and then it opened fire with a .50-caliber machine gun. A woman was injured in her waist,” he said.
The junta’s airstrike on Pan Thabyay also destroyed a school and three houses.
At around 10 a.m. today, the junta’s military dropped two 250lb bombs on Pangkun, destroying a monastery and a pagoda, according to a resident.
Due to the airstrikes, residents from Pan Thabyay, Pangkun, and Panhpyat are fleeing to nearby jungle areas.
The junta has continuously launched airstrikes into areas controlled by the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) over the last month. From August 1 to 31, junta artillery and airstrikes in these areas killed at least 57 civilians, including 5 children and 19 women, and injured 66 others.
