Hsipaw

The Hsipaw-Lashio Bridge, located at the edge of Hsipaw Township in northern Shan State, remains impassable due to a mutual blockade by the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) forces and troops from the junta’s military, according to the residents.

The junta’s military arrested and taken away 35 local residents in Hsipaw—a township recently brought back under its control in northern Shan State—on suspicion of having ties to the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), according to a source close to some detainees.

Following the junta’s recapture of Hsipaw Town, its troops have advanced as far as the Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 23 base along the Hsipaw–Namtu Road, according to ground sources.

Myanmar junta forces have regained control of most areas in Hsipaw Township, northern Shan State—previously held by the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA)—while clashes continue to erupt on the outskirts, according to the residents.
