Shwe Phee Myay, June 19
Maj Gen Tar Bhone Kyaw, General Secretary of the Palaung State Liberation Front/Ta’ang National Liberation Army (PSLF/TNLA), today uploaded a video message to his social media, wishing for the swift release of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, whom he states remains unjustly detained by the junta’s military regime.
The video message extended a birthday wish to Aung San Suu Kyi on her 80th birthday, which falls on June 19.
“Happy Birthday, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. May you be swiftly released. May you swiftly lead Myanmar again,” Maj Gen Tar Bhone Kyaw said in the video.
Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, the State Counselor of Myanmar’s ousted civilian government and democracy leader, has been charged by the junta’s military regime with 19 offenses and sentenced to over 30 years in prison.
Around the world, netizens – mostly Myanmar people who fled overseas since the 2021 coup – have uploaded over 80,000 video birthday wishes for Aung San Suu Kyi, who remains unjustly detained by the junta.
Furthermore, the Suu Foundation has issued a statement voicing concerns that Daw Aung San Suu Kyi suffered a left arm injury in the severe earthquake that hit the country on March 28.
