Lway Lao Jar, Oct 22, Mogok
The number of injured in the junta military’s airstrike into the eastern part of Mogok, a township controlled by the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) in Mandalay Region, has reached up to 12, including four injured children, according to the residents.
At around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, the junta’s military dropped a 250lb bomb from a fighter jet onto the futsal field near the Kan Tawng Shan monastery, which resulted in the deaths of 3 children.
A total of 12 people were injured, including 7 men, 3 of whom were children, and 5 women, including one child.
“Only 3 children died. The number of injured is what has increased. Because they hit the football field, there were more children among the casualties,” said a resident.
The individuals injured in the bombing have been identified as Hla Than Dar Aye (7), Nee Gaung (8), Nyi Thit (11), Hein Min Thant (12), Ko Kan Char (50), Daw Geetha (38), U Thi Karan (67), Daw Kumarri (67), Daw Samithari (57), Daw Uma (63), U Kumar (48), and U Kiri (71).
In addition to the casualties caused by the junta bombs, at least six local homes were reportedly damaged or destroyed.
On October 20, the military also carried out an aerial bombing on Mongngawt town under the TNLA control, killing two residents instantly and injuring two others.
According to figures compiled by Shwe Phee Myay, ongoing aerial bombardments by the junta TNLA-controlled areas since October 1 have resulted in 47 deaths—including 9 children—and 54 injuries, including 14 children.
