The junta’s military has resumed its offensive from Nawnghkio towards Mogok, a township controlled by the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) in Mandalay Region, according to the military sources on the ground.

“They’ve recently launched an offensive again. It’s not a full-scale push yet, but they (the junta troops) have already crossed Yadanar Theingi and reached the main road leading to Monglon,” said a source.

According to sources, the advancing junta column is comprised of over 100 troops and is primarily using drones for its attacks.

“Our side also only uses drones. This side is all mountains. If it doesn’t rain, they don’t dare to launch an offensive, because they are afraid of the drones,” the source said.

After capturing Nawnghkio, the junta advanced on the Nawnghkio-Mogok road before pausing. They are now preparing to launch an offensive again.

On the morning of Tuesday, September 16, the junta also conducted an airstrike on eastern Mogok, injuring one resident and damaging 5 houses.
