The junta’s military launched at least 16 airstrikes over the past two weeks on Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA)-controlled Nawnghkio, Kyaukme, Hsipaw Townships in northern Shan State, and Mogok Township in Mandalay Region and these attacks killed at least 17 civilians, including women and children, and injured at least 48 others.

An airstrike on Kyaukme’s busiest area on June 24 killed two women and two men and injured 14 others. The evening attack hit the San Pya fried rice shop.

On June 27, the junta launched another airstrike on Kyaukme, targeting the Ward 7 construction department office. The attack killed a nearby woman and injured two others.

On June 29, the junta’s military launched two airstrikes on Kyaukme at 2 p.m. and 9 p.m., destroying many houses.

In the TNLA-controlled Mogok Township, Mandalay Region, the junta’s military launched an airstrike on June 26, injuring four civilians.

Then, on July 8, the junta’s military conducted another airstrike on Kyaukme, hitting an elders’ center on Nyein Chan Yay hill. This attack killed one woman and injured four others.

On the morning of July 8, a junta military airstrike on Mogok town killed two women and one man and injured five other civilians.

One day later, at approximately 8 p.m. on July 9, the junta’s military launched an airstrike on the eastern part of Mogok Town, killing two children and injuring six others.

Separately, on July 1, the junta’s military also launched an airstrike on Thone Sal village in Nawnghkio Township, where clashes with TNLA forces were ongoing. This attack killed three male villagers and injured one other.

The junta also launched an airstrike on Hsipaw on July 5. Additionally, more airstrikes hit Kyaukme and Nawnghkio on July 11, killing one person and injuring five others.

Separately, on July 13, the junta conducted another airstrike on Kyaukme, injuring an elderly woman.

At around 6 p.m. on Monday, the junta’s military launched an airstrike into Hsipaw by dropping two bombs with a fighter jet and this attack also killed two civilians and injured two others.

In an effort to retake Nawnghkio Township, the junta’s military is currently launching an offensive with several thousand troops. Concurrently, it is continually conducting airstrikes on other TNLA-controlled townships without ground clashes, a pattern observed since June 24.
