An airstrike launched by the junta around 11 p.m. on Monday in Municipal Ward, eastern Mogok Township, Mandalay Region, injured one civilian, residents told Shwe Phee Myay.
The junta’s military dropped two 250-pound bombs near Hsin Twang Monastery in Municipal Ward, eastern Mogok.
A resident reported, “One person was injured, and some houses were destroyed. The junta dropped two bombs from a Y-12 aircraft. There are also houses that were hit by shrapnel.”
Residents reported that at least five houses were destroyed.
In a separate incident around 11 a.m. on Monday, the junta’s military used a fighter jet to drop two 250-pound bombs near Waso Monastery in Pein Nae Kone Village, Kyaukme Township. This attack injured three novice monks and damaged 20 houses.
On August 18, the junta’s military dropped a bomb near the Kyat Byin clock tower in western Mogok, injuring one resident.
Separately, on August 17 at approximately 9 a.m., an airstrike by the junta’s military in eastern Mogok killed three people, including a child.
Furthermore, a junta airstrike on August 14 in Nga Pat Tawng village resulted in the deaths of 21 civilians and injured 10 others.
