Yar Rujin, Jul 5, Hsipaw

Junta’s military launched an airstrike into Hsipaw, a township controlled by the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) in northern Shan State, at around 10 p.m. on Friday, by dropping two 250lb bombs with a fighter jet, according to the residents.

The bombs destroyed the surgery ward of Hsipaw’s public hospital and the agricultural department office near Nam Paw bridge. They also damaged at least eight houses in the surrounding areas.

“There are no civilian casualties or injuries reported. While some house ceilings were damaged, others were completely destroyed. Houses near the hospital were not badly damaged; the surgery ward was specifically hit. Only the area around the agricultural office sustained severe damage,” a resident said.

According to another resident who witnessed the incident, at least five governmental buildings in the vicinity of the agricultural office also sustained damage.

The junta has also continuously launched airstrikes on Kyaukme, another TNLA-controlled township in northern Shan State. From June 24 to 29, these junta airstrikes killed at least 5 and injured 22 civilians in Kyaukme.
