The younger sister of Comrade Aung Paing, a fighter of Burma People’s Liberation Army (BPLA) killed during Operation 1027, was awarded best sniper at the Batch 9 basic military training graduation ceremony held in the Ta’ang region, according to the BPLA statement.
The graduation ceremony on June 7 saw the BPLA award various titles to outstanding comrades, arm new recruits, and organize a new battalion to serve under their No. 203 military region.
The BPLA’s unprecedented graduation ceremony in the Ta’ang region, controlled by the Palaung State Liberation Front/Ta’ang National Liberation Army (PSLF/TNLA), was attended by several key figures, according to its statement.
These included Dr. Zaw Wai Soe, Union Minister for Health and Education of the parallel National Unity Government, Major General Tar Bhone Kyaw, the PSLF/TNLA General Secretary, Khun B Htoo, Deputy Chair of Karenni State’s Interim Executive Council, a commander from the Arakan Army, the commander-in-chief and general secretary of the People’s Liberation Army, the deputy chair of the All Burma Students’ Democratic Front, and the BPLA commander.
Leaders of the allied armed resistance emphasized that unity among various forces is essential for victory of the revolution, asserting that if they unite harmoniously, Myanmar’s military dictatorship could be swiftly overthrown.
