China’s state-run CCTV announced the execution of 11 people linked to the online scam operations, among them the son and grandson of syndicate leader Ming Xuechang, who had been extradited to China by Myanmar junta regime.
Eleven members of the online scam syndicate—including Ming Xuechang’s son, Ming Guoping, and grandson, Ming Zhenzhen—were sentenced to death in September 2025, with their executions carried out nearly four months later.
The Wenzhou Intermediate People’s Court in Zhejiang Province handed down the sentences. While the court confirmed the executions, the official Chinese statement did not disclose the exact date on which the 11 individuals were put to death.
Members of the Ming family were prosecuted in China and sentenced to death for crimes including fraud, intentional assault, and drug trafficking.
During “Operation 1027,” as the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) attacked Laukkai, the junta’s military arrested Ming Xuechang’s son and grandson in November 2023 and extradited them to China.
Ming Xuechang himself reportedly committed suicide on November 16, 2023, as junta forces moved in to arrest him in Laukkai.
