Yar Rujin, Jul 29, Mogok

The junta’s military launched another airstrike on Mogok, a township controlled by the Palaung State Liberation Front/Ta’ang National Liberation Army (PSLF/TNLA) northern Shan State, today, killing at least three civilians and injured nine others, according to the residents.

This new fatal junta airstrike of dropping bombs with three fighter jets on Mogok followed the TNLA’s July 28 announcement of a major road closure in the township for repairs.

However, after bombing the town, pro-junta lobbyists spread fake news, claiming the TNLA was using residents as human shields by closing roads connected to Mogok.

The junta’s military dropped nine bombs into areas around Mintada, Shwebonthar, and BOC Highway Bus Station in the eastern part of the town, all of which are crowded with people.

“The bombs were dropped even though it’s raining heavily,” a resident said. “The first fighter jet dropped two bombs, the second dropped five bombs, and the last one dropped two.”

The TNLA’s statement reported that today’s junta airstrike killed at least four civilians and injured nine others.

Additionally, the airstrike damaged 18 houses.

Additionally, on July 26, the junta’s military launched an airstrike on Mogok, dropping two bombs on Shwe Late Pyar Hotel, which killed one civilian and injured three others.
